Just Don't Do It!!!!!!!!!

The only positive qualities of this place are the close proximity

to the park, the reasonable rent, and the relatively large sizes

of the apartments (the one bedrooms at least).

That being said, there are many, many negative things to be said

about this place. The management truly just doesn't seem to care,

and none of your concerns will be addressed in a timely manner,

if at all.

Last winter they switched management and the new management

decided that plowing the lot was no longer a priority, so they

stopped and the lot was a slippery as hell sheet of ice for two

months. They also stopped spraying for bugs, and guess what??

Roaches, and I don't know what the other ones were, but you won't

want to come close enough to kill them, they're so ugly. The

building is falling into disrepair and literally groans loudly

each time a very strong wind hits it as it shifts on its

foundations. A few months ago, one of my decent neighbors told me

that the bathroom tiles in their shower fell through/into the

wall, and guess what, they'd been laid on cardboard! As we all

know, cardboard is very water resistant, right? And if you think

maintenance has come out to fix it yet, you're kidding yourself.

Now, I know the management isn't responsible for any of my

neighbors' behaviors, but the noise level they tolerate around

here is completely out of hand, and some of the people that live

here are some of the shadiest/most terrifying characters I have

ever come across (that isn't to say I haven't met decent, kind

people who live here). Prepare yourself to wonder every time you

leave the building if your possessions will be here when you

return. And when you get back, prepare to wonder if your car

won't be broken into.

Oh, and the neighbors are as annoying as they are scary! It's

kind of a sport around here to drive by the building late at

night blaring your horn to alert whoever it is you are visiting

that you have arrived. And seeing as the air conditioners don't

actually cool the apartment worth a damn, the windows are open

and EVERYONE enjoys a wake up call. Yay! The second most popular

sport around here is to tear through pedestrian areas as fast as

your beater will go. Oh, and the day I moved in, the world's

creepiest old man tried to lure my friend's wife (who happens to

be very young looking) into his apartment. No joke. We should

have stopped unloading the U-haul right then and found another

place...ANY place.

There have been multiple nights that I have been awoken by the

next door neighbor's drug and alcohol fueled orgy/brawl (how you

can want to beat the sh*t out of someone and then to loudly and

desperately beg them to sleep with you ten minutes later is

beyond me) and the management continues to tolerate their

behavior and the noise complaint visits from the DeKalb police.

The same neighbors tend to nap in the hallway...not sure why, but

I bet it has something to do with alcohol.

They offer coin operated washers and dryers but usually only one

or two of them is in working order, and frankly, I'm horrified by

the idea of my neighbor's clothes being in the same washer as

mine. And the washers and dryers are in the basement (with the

storage "areas") which is really, really creepy and dark. And

considering the neighbors, it's probably unsafe as well.

Least important of all these is that it is sometimes impossible

to turn north out of the lot due to traffic and back up from

Wendy's on Sycamore Road. Also, there are approximately eight

visitor parking spots, three of which are taken up by junk

vehicles. So don't expect to have friends visit, not that you

would bring them back to this sh*thole anyway!
