HANDS DOWN WORST REALTOR IN ILLINOIS. I can tell you right now that 90% of these positive reviews are PITTSLEY staff writting them in. I have been a tenant with Pittsley for 3 years. They have given me nothing but problems these last two years. The reason I dont just move is because well thats a huge pain in the butt and ive done it twice in two years. I once caught them power washing everones front porches using our water spicket. I have to pay for that water separately! I also caught them throwing out my personal stuff off my front porch. They still havnt replaced that. They are ignorant and treat the tenants complete disrespect. I cannot beleive a realtor would act as they do. Everything is cheap in the house and breaks constantly (furnace) and they refuse to fix it correctly. One time maintainance fixed our furnace with ducttape and a zip tie!!! Our firealarm wiring was done using speaker wire. Everything is done wrong here. This is only the tip of the iceburg im saying here. DONT BE FOOLISH LIKE ME and sign with these money hungry realtors. They ticket you for stuff that never happened and good luck trying to get your safety deposit back!!! WARNING WARNING dont sign with them!!

I just renewed my lease, and they lowered my rent for the coming year! What, who does that??? They have been the best to deal with, never had issues like the other places I've lived. I'm definitely not moving until I graduate.

The apartment was clean and in good condition when we arrived. The office staff was friendly and concerned about our needs. Maintenance requests were done in a timely manner. Would recommend renting with them.

This is the worst realty company to rent from in the state let alone dekalb. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every conversation from the people who live next to you, as well as when they have to go to the bathroom -it is gross. EVERYTHING breakes and then they charge you for it. The maintenance sucks it took then three days to come out and do serious cleaning that made living conditions around the building unberible. they dont change the locks and if you use more than four sheets of toilet paper the toilet will clog, overflow and flood your bathroom floor. The sneek attack you on everything and you will end up paying more than you bargan for. They alsom make you pay for a parking spot which is usless because you are a resident. Don't let them fool you... the appartments do look nice at a glance but it is unlivable living conditions and a lot a money that is lost in the end!!!!

I've lived in DeKalb for several years. Have lived with Pittsley, Star and Mason. Pittsley has been by far the best experience.

I have had nothing but good things happen to me from Pittsley Realty. I have had good promt service everytime I had a call. The office staff has always helped me if i ever had a question. THe only concern that i have is the security lock on my outside of my apt complex keeps breaking, only becuase someone is doing it (i think). Pittsleys maintance staff has came by and fixed it multiple times. So all in all i feel that Pittsley Realty is a great rental company and would recommend them to anyone looking to move

I rented a 4 bedroom with my sister and 2 other girls. We NEVER partied, we lived in quiet lifestyle. The last weekend we were there we spent30 hours cleaning. We shampooed the carpet 3 times, spackled and sanded all the holes, S.O.S.ed the kitchen floor (it looked better than when we moved in), cleaned out all cabinets and drawers, scrubbed the oven with oven cleaner, cleaned frig and moved it out and cleaned around it, cleaned all windows inside and out. The place look 10X better than when we moved in except it needed a paint job, but they said they did that after every tenant any way. Our security deposit was $1000 ($250 each). About 2 months after we moved we received a bill for $1300 for the cleaning and repair they had to make on our apartment! That means they charged us $2300! They charged us $518 for painting! We shouldn't have to pay for that. We talked with them and they ended up giving us back like $300 (which was like $75 each). Just make sure that if you do rent from them you take LOTS of picture before you move in and get them dated, then when you move out you'll have better evidence to defend getting your security deposit back. Good Luck!

I liked it there. Dekalb is expensive where ever you go. I never has a problem with them except we wrote EVERYTHING down that was wrong when we moved in, SCRUBBED the apartment for hours and hours (even shampooed the carpet) and we only got about 30% of our deposit back. We were always on time with the rent and never partied... the apartment was in BETTER condition when we left so we were a little ****** about it. Although, they originally sent us a letter after we moved and said we owed $280 b/c the apt was in such bas shape it took all $1000 to fix plus $300. We had to talk to Mike and he gave us $300 back. They never came and fixed things unless we called and called but when there were swarms of bees or our dishwasher was flooding they came right over. I still liked the apartments though although don't expect to get your sec dep back.

We have lived with Pittsley for 2 years now. Probably one of the better renters. They are usually fairly fast with getting things fixed though you need to stay on them about it. Probably one of the higest priced renters for the amount of space you get for the apartments. I think the townhouses you get more for your money though.

it is a very nice apartment, although it is a little expensive to be located on a college campus. the only disadvantage about this apartment is that the walls are very thin and the heat does not circulate well. it is either to hot or too cold.
