Review for Varsity Square Apartments

The staff are very nice and the old maintenance man was great (I don't know who is there). The apt are old and small. The structure is not sound - thsi is a quote from the previous maintenance man who was trying to help us with oru ceiling problem. It is not just a squeak. The cross boards between the ceiling and upstairs floor are broken (per the maintenance man) and when the girl upstairs would walk it would not only creak where she was walking, but the entire ceiling would creak. If we were watching TV, we literally had to turn the TV up to hear it. It was so loud that I had to wear those foam industrial ear plugs to bed every night for the 6 months we lived at Varsity Square just to sleep through the night.

We asked to see a 2nd floor apt when deciding to renew our lease or not and it was disgusting. I don't think the guy ever cleaned his toilet (it was literally black) and there was water stains all over the ceiling (indicating that the upstairs structure is not sound either).

The price was right at the time but I am gald we only had to stay for 6 months. We then moved to Stone Prairie in Sycamore and love it here.
