Apartment Reviews for Berkshires At Hoffman Estates
Below Average Apartments and Annoying to Deal With

I just moved out of this complex. They recently forced most people out that had lived there for years by doubling the rent or simply not renewing the lease for some tenants as they are remodling the apartments. Maintenance had always put little effort into fixing anything and now I know why. The office claims that corporate is making them do this and they have no say in it, real helpful I know. Speaking of the office it was very hard to get in touch with anyone but the secretary who offered little help and was uncertain of most things; the manager was also always very hard to get in touch with. The complex itself appeared pretty run down, there were always random shopping carts and trash littering the area and there were never any parking spots available, guest parking was few and far between. People drove like mad men throughout the parking lots and the police were there on a frequent basis. The building I was in was very loud, the walls were paper thin so you could hear everything the neighbors were doing above and next to you. My upstairs neighbors quit enjoyed listening to nothing but bass from 4pm-1am and the people next to me had a nice crying baby. If you enjoy crying and bass then this may be the place for you. On the positive side the ceiling fan I had was nice and the appliances worked, I also like that they have a gym that only had kids in it watching tv part of the time. A word of advice though, if you choose to not put down a security deposit they will nitpick everything they can to find something wrong - I found this odd as they were supposedly remodeling the place anyway. Take what you want from my review, hopefully I am one of the last tenants leaving and the shadow "corporation" makes everything nice and shiny for everyone.
