Apartment Review for Settler's Run

My husband and I moved here last Feb. In April I found out that I was pregnant. Eventually, I got to the point to where I could barely make it up the stairs to our 2nd floor apartment. We asked if we could transfer to a ground level and the told us we would have to wait at least 6 months into our lease and that we would also have to resign another year lease. They say that their lease terms are flexible, but aparently not for pregnant women. My husband had to help me up the stairs until our baby was born. Later on, we had a problem with cigarette smoke coming in through our bathroom vent and smelling up the whole apartment. Maintanence came out 5 times trying to fix the problem only to no avail and gave up trying saying that there is nothing else they could do. Then, since our baby was born last November, our furnace would not keep our apartment warm. Which caused our baby and us to get sick. They came out several times, again never finding the problem, and eventually gave up. They told us that it was working fine, but every day it would be freezing in our apartment. At one point they told us to get space heaters. We, pay too much in rent to have to buy space heaters. They finally came out on a guess and replaced our thermostate which fixed the problem. Not to mention our baby was only two weeks old at the time. Other Issues we have had: - They lost our rent check. - They hardly ever answer their phones during business hours. - They are terrible about returning any calls - It is too expensive for such a small apartment. (which is the same for all their apartments.) <P>
Also, at the Halloween party last year (Children present) female staff were dressed extremely provocatively(like whores) and were drinking the whole time. <P>
We do not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. <P>
