I lived here for about a year and a half and had several problems, especially with Brittany in the offfice. We had problems with ants, mice, and centipedes here and we always kept our apartment clean. We asked maintanence to spray for bugs when we first moved in, and they assured us the spray was safe to use around our pets. But this summer when we had the same problem, we were told they have never used a spray that is safe to use around animals and just left a box of stuff you can get at the grocery at our door (and it says right on the box not to use around animals too). I had to go to Lowes and get something myself.
We did have a washer and dryer, but they were the small portable kind, the appliances were old, our dishwasher broke and flooded the apartment during Memorial Day weekend and we had to wait 3 days for it to be replaced. We had a mold problem on our patio that was just ignored.
Yes the community is gated, but the one by the office is always open, and the others don't get shut when they are supposed to half the time. The alarm system is a joke, it's not even monitored, and when ours broke I had to call the office 3 times to get it fixed. I was finally told that Brittany had never even reported it to maintenance, and she never got in trouble for it! Crime seems to have gotten worse since last winter. There were armed robberies this past winter, and the police chase people by here regularly at night. I hear we have a courtesy officer, but I didn't meet him in a year and a half.
This was the largest 1 br apartment I have had, and some of the maintenance guys were very nice and helpful, but rent keeps going up, the area just isn't very nice, and there are too many problems to ignore. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.
