I lived in Harvard Square for 14 years. The only reason I left, which I really hated doing, was because I got married and my soon-to-be husband lived in Missouri. I absolutely loved living in Harvard Square! It was my home and I really miss it so much! If I even needed a light bulb replaced in the ceiling, or any kind of maintenance, someone was out within 30 minutes and always fixed it right. The maintenance standards were very high and they alway did a superb job. Many times, they replaced applicances, air conditioning, etc. simply because they felt I needed a new one. They were also very courteous. When I moved, I had a lot of things to do to bring it back to original move-in condition. For example, I had wall paper border in almost every room, a mural stuck on a wall, the ceilings were stuckoed heavily and the back porch was totally red brick that was not flat. They told me that I was such a good tenant, that they would just call it even with my security deposit. I didn't even have to clean it. Harvard Square was also a very nice neighborhood. I loved to hear the children playing. Yes, they had strict rules, kind of like living in an association neighborhood. Since they are a cooperative, the tenants are like shareholders, and elect a board who are also tenants, to manage the place, including the management company, Kirkpatrick Mgmt. I would recommend Harvard Square to everyone.
