I lived at Newport and all I can really blame for the management for is not fully informing me of what kind of community I was moving into. The townhomes are pretty nice, not luxury- but nice enough. I can honestly say I never had a single problem with anything so I don't know anything about the response time of maintenance. I had a new refrigerator upon move-in and the dishwasher was pretty new as well--so like I said...no problems in that regard. The problem is the people that live there are GHETTO! Little kids out playing in the parking lot past 10 pm, people being LOUD and DIRTY...just throwing fast food bags out of their cars into the parking lot, etc. Oh and I had Christmas decorations stolen from off my front door. That's just pathetic. I'm pretty sure it was little kids, but still...totally unacceptable. I would not rent there if I were you unless they have done something about getting more tenants with a sense of pride in where they live and who can control their children.
