First of all, I just want to say that nobody should have to deal with this kind of management in any business whatsoever. I have never seen such a lax, unaccoutable, and deceitful chain of command anywhere. Having said that, let me tell you about my experience over the last 5-6 months. My roommate and I had the pleasure of CLEANING the apartment before we moved into it. When you lay down $700/month for an apartment, you would think it would be presentable on the first day. But no, we moved into an apartment that had filthy cabinets and appliances. Outside on the balcony, the windows had about an inch of dust and dirt accumulated on it that we had to scrub off ourselves. It's safe to say that we spent more time cleaning the apartment than we did actually "moving" into it. Also there was, and still is to this day, a partition missing on one side of the balcony. Upon the first day, I also found out that the dishwasher we had in our apartment did not even work. It was replaced, but it took 3 weeks to get the problem resolved. The biggest problem with The Summit is it's hot water, or the lack thereof. I had the pleasure of driving over to Avon to take a shower on several occassions when we did not have hot water for FOUR CONSECUTIVE DAYS. When I asked management about this problem and if I could have any kind of compensation for my countless 25 mile drives to Avon and back, I was told nothing could be done. To this day, the hot water situation has yet to be fully repaired. The list does go on. It took my roommate and I months upon months to get a smoke detector installed. We also had the pleasure of about 3 areas of our ceiling that were leaking. One area leaked on my roommate's couch. Another area was directly above my shower. I could tell this area was half-assed fixed because chunks of drywall started falling! We also have 2 heaters/air conditioners that are barely blowing out any air whatsoever. It's a shame to invite people over, because I never know what will happen next! I stated earlier that the management lacks accountability. If you don't believe me by now, perhaps you'll believe the Better Business Bureau. Just go to their website and see for yourself. Please e-mail me if you have any comments, further questions, or if you want to collaborate and file a class action lawsuit against the Summit House.
