Great apartment. Friendly staff who has responded to all requests, quickly. Apt is quiet, comfortable, and I feel safe. Utilities are low. Glad I am here.

I've lived at Carlton for 3.5 years and have LOVED everything about it. I've lived in 5 different apartment/rentals over the years and this has been the BEST by a landslide.
I really don't understand all the negative ratings. I think some people expect the red carpet treatment everywhere they go, and theyt expect maintenance to change their lightbulbs for them. It's unfortunate because those lazy, whiny people can negatively affect the image of a complex for people reading reviews.
What makes this place a good home? For one, the walls are THICK. I've had MANY different neighbors over the years and have never had a problem with noise. There was an occasion where a ghetto neighbor decided he was going to blast his hoop-dy ghetto-car stereo every night of the week... but the complex confronted him about it and I haven't heard anything since.
The maintenance is phenomenal. Everything I've called about has been fixed within 24 hours, and I've even had to call after-hours emergency maintenance on a Sunday night. 15 minutes later my problem was taken care of. They have several maintenance guys to do a great job.
While the exterior of the apartments might look a little dated compared to the nice complex beside us, the grounds here are BEAUTIFUL. They pick up trash first thing every morning, and they have gorgeous landscaping that changes with every season. There are even fountains and courtyards throughout.
What else? Well, for one, they have gone out of their way to help me when I needed it. They gave me a free carport to store my motorcycle after a neighbor hit it in a parking lot. They also know me by name everytime I go into the office, which is more than I can say for every other place I've lived.
The value for this apartment really can't be beat. I feel safe here, I NEVER see cops, it's quiet, everything works reliably and the complex is managed in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable yet safe place to live.
However, if you want to complain about EVERYTHING, and you want someone to wait on you hand and foot, maybe you should consider paying by the night at the Hilton. You have to rrealize that when you live in an apartment, you're going to have to deal with other people. If you get ****** off by someone talking outside your window, buy a house. Don't blame the apartment office for your inability to live in a community. And if you can't pay your rent on time, or you move out without cleaning your apartment, don't blame them for the repercussions. Sometimes you need to learn to take responsibility for your own irresponsibility.

I have lived here for almost 2 years and love it. The community is kept up very well and the apartments are also. I definately will recommend Carlton to my friends and will be resigning my lease. <P>
