Apartment Reviews for Three Fountains East Co Op
How times have changed.

I lived in Three Fountains from 1972-1984. I grew up living in Three Fountains and it was an all white area, 2 black families lived in the entire apartment complex. You could walk outside at 3pm or 3am and be safe.
In about 1983 the blacks started moving in and you couldnt walk outside at night, if you were white, without getting jumped or chased. Me and my friends were actually shot at a few times, chased, harassed and our families eventually moved away. Gangs of blacks blatantly walked around at night carrying shotguns.
We moved out in 1984, like most white families did, out of fear living there for 11 years, moving it at age 7, out at age 18. Growing up, I always wanted to raise my children in this area. That of course has changed.
I am now 42 years old, still living in Indiana, and drove past the area recently for the first time in almost 20 years.
What I saw saddened me. The area is a shell of its former self. The current residents have no idea how wonderful that section of town was 25-30 years ago. The areas behind the apartments (which we called "The Diamond" is fenced off, and for good reason. The restaurants and shops have all become boarded up buildings and liquor stores.
I am moving back to Indianapolis soon and found Three Fountains West. I plan to look into those apartments, but wont be looking into this Three Fountains.
Wonderful memories of a happy youth were had growing up in Three Fountains. Driving by makes me sad inside and makes me miss the carefree days of youth.
Totally a different area now. I wouldnt dump a cat off in this area now.
