I think all security should stop people who don't live inside the community. Especially since guests are supposed to have visitors parking passes. It's for the safety of the residents. It sounds like that officer wanted to know what you were doing over in the neighborhood that is known for being a rough area. My dad always tells me to stop driving through that way on my way to Ivy Tech, but I still do. At least they have security, unlike other places I have lived and looked at lately to move.

I am writing this review to offer a light of positivity with a total diffeence of opinion as a new resident of Three Fountains East. Since my husband, myself and child became residents of Three Fountains East Co-op, we have not experienced some of the negative activity I have read about on the reviews and I would not wish to deter anyone from ever considering researching or moving to this community.

From what I gather, our residence here has been a pleasant experience, thus far. Three Fountains East is a predominately African American housing Co-Op Community but it also has diverse cultures and great neighbors residing within and from my understanding many are residents of longevity. Each person I meet or have had the pleasure of being introuduced to has been warmly welcoming. The management team is about the business of keeping this community in tact and up to par, they were very professional and t horough relating to community property guidelines, their explanation regarding residents responsibility and their expectation of maintaining a decent and sanitary living environment in and around each housing unit.
The maintenance team is respectful, timely, punctual, polite and very knowlegable in the maintenance profession. What I am most entriqued with is how this Co-op functions as a whole and I am definately impressed with the amount of pride everyone takes in keeping this community a safe place to live. I can look outside of my unit at anytime of day or night and witness the security team about thier business of keeping the area safe. This makes me feel from the Seniors down to the children are protected. I know there are other housing communities throughout the City of Indianapolis that may be considered a nicer place to live, but what Three Fountains East offers, I could not find anywhere. The emitities stand alone from all the rest. Where else can you find a housing unit that is clean, with all operable appliances that includes gas, free basic cable, a washer and dryer within the unit, a privatized enclosed patio for your entertainment purposes if needed and carpet throughout with window treatments provided for you upon arrival for immediate privacy at each window in the unit, along with central air and to make it even better you only have a few feet to place your weekly garbage to be retrieved in a timely and systematic fashion, and to top that off it is the most affordable residence I have EVER lived.
Since being here I have heard many say this is a bad area, some won't even come near this area but in my opinion, Three Fountains East is a Beacon of Light with a proud community to back it up. It is the management team, the maintenance crew and security team all working together with the residents to make this a community a nice place to reside within, desire to remain in and be proud of. Last but not least, some people choose to slander, disrespect, complain and not appreciate a well ran community when they see it, especially if it is being ran by African Americans, some always have to find fault even if they know the rules, they always expect someone to bend or disregard the rules when it applies to them, but I must tip my hat to you guys and gals, you are doing a terrific job. Keep up the good work and if no one else tells you this you can't say you didn't hear it from me. I love being here. Kudos to you ALL!!

Since the time I moved into Three Fountains East Apartments back in 1997, there have gradually been changes that have made the complex more dangerous and easier for the criminals to do their thing. It is difficult to say whether or not the property ******* is still dealing *****. The apartment ******* *****, got her job through **** connections. DO NOT trust the management!!!! When I first moved in here it was with my teenage daughter. She quickly fell into the drugs, which are available like candy. A couple of the 'then' drug dealers are still living in the complex. Every neighbor I've ever met has had either a break-in or an attempted break-in. Rapes and burglery are not uncommon. But unfortunately, instead of going after the criminals, the management punishes the residents. They have put up steel gates that lock in the crime, making a bad situation worse. They have hired a group of roughians, called A-MASS TOWING. I have been witness to these people harrassing both verbally and physically, the residents of Three Fountains East, both old and young. They are eager to tow cars, even when the residents have followed the 'rules'. I was witness to a young man being verbally abused, including the 'N' word. He had broken no rules, the parking pass was on his vehicle, but A-MASS TOWING claimed that it was forged. It most definitely WAS NOT. They attempted to physically hold him until the cops showed up. The young man was simply dropping off his mother's prescriptions. He still had to pay 75 dollars to keep his (HIS) car. A-MASS and therefore, Kirkpatrick Management are truly harrassing the residents of Three Fountains!!! This is BIG MONEY for the empoyees of A-MASS TOWING. I watched them tow no fewer than four vehicles yesterday. Speaking with the neighbors, it was obvious that they have been targeted. I am urging everyone to have their camcorders ready for recording to capture these incidents on YouTube. DON'T MOVE INTO THREE FOUNTAINS EAST unless you are a GUN SLINGING DRUG DEALER / GANGSTER!!!! The GOOD people move out, while the criminals are moving in.... GEE... thanks Three Fountains and Kirkpatrick Management! On a good note, the maintenance is pretty good. When I had a gas leak a couple months back, they were at my apartment at 2 pm on a Saturday. It didn't even bother me that his uniform smelled like ***, because I was just happy to get the leak fixed.

I am a professional white woman who happends to be in a relationship with a black male. every day we pick up my fience's son who started kendergarten this year, who lives in 3 fountains with his mother. His mother gets off at 7:30p and we pick up at the bus stop till she gets off work. In the last 2 weeks, i have been harrased and accued by the security of prostitution, buying drugs, or whatever he maybe accusing me of. I understand this is policy for security to check because this area has known for bad happenings, but today was the 2nd time the same security guard has stopped us to ask to see our liscense that is not a problem, that was part of his job, after my fience went to get his son, the officer went on telling me that he was told that i ran accrosed the street from brookwood apts to get in the car with a black male. After me telling him that my uncle was a white officer for Lawrance Township he gave me our I.D's back and he said "never mind, dont worry about it, you are ok" he went on and told me that this is a bad idea and that i shouldnt be over here. I wonder, if i was a blk woman would my fience been approched if he was selling drugs or if i was a prostitute. I know that the area is bad, but at the same time police needs to understand that everybody staying in or around that area or comming to, is not a bad person.
