Review for College Creek Apartments

First off, let me start by saying that Ames, Iowa has MUCH better rental properties available than in most parts of the country.

I lived at College Creek for four years. Rent was approximately $500/month, including heat, water, garbage, and Internet. Tenants were responsible for paying electricity. I believe the rent is closer to 550 today. I would give my right and left arm for this kind of value here in Atlanta (where a comparable property would rent for $800-$900/month without ANY utilities!)

The building is sprayed for bugs twice a year, and I knew my maintanance man by name. He was very nice and all repairs were made in a timely manner. My kitchen had a microwave, gas stove, dishwasher, and garbage disposal! Before I moved in, Hunziker had all new carpeting installed, new tile in the kitchen, new blinds for the patio window, new paint (latex, not the tacky enamel that you find in many privately owned apartments), and new trim were put in. This apartment was in FANTASTIC shape, and it stayed so throughout the four years I lived there.
My only complaint I have is that, when I moved out, they kept $50 from my deposit. The only cleaning/repair they had listed was that they had to wipe the dust off the very top of the rack for the sliding shower door. It seems like they were searching awfully hard to find a reason to keep my money, but at least I got most of the deposit back, which is more than you can say about most rental companies.
