Apartment Reviews for Kimberly Club Apartments - Davenport

In my opinion Apartments aren't in too bad of shape and they're in a good location, but I have heard of leaky roofs and ceilings from other tenants and most importantly the management is HORRIBLE. They are rude, morans, and CROOKS! They give you no incentive to want to stay. We recently moved to a two bedroom from a one bedroom simply because it was easier and they were in no way accomodating nor did they give us any incentive to want to stay. Had it not been so inconvenient with me being pregnant we would have without a doubt moved elsewhere.
When we decided to move to a two bedroom we called to see what was available. Told them that we would like one with a balcony..the only one with a balcony was available right away. Ideally that would have been great BUT they wouldn't let us move before our lease was up without charging a $200 "transfer" fee. We couldn't even move a month early. Instead I got to move when I was 7 going on 8 months preggo just to save $200. ALL This to move to a two bedroom within the same complex. My old apartments didn't even charge you anything if you were moving within the same complex! What a crock! As if the $750 in deposits wasn't enough! How is it any inconvenience to them for us to transfer' They're getting more money from us per month for rent with the xtra bedroom, not to mention everything they stole out of our deposits! Then when our lease was up we told them we were ready to move to the 2 br. They said they had one available (this was on a friday) we told them we would be in monday to bring in the deposit to hold it and we wanted it. My boyfriend went in to take the check to them and they said they gave it away to someone else. We were IRATE. Then a couple hours later they called and told us it was available again. IDIOTS. So we took the check back and held it. Then we go to sign the lease when we're ready to move in and they told us to come by on saturday which was the last day of the month and would be the 30 days notice to move out of our old one. We get there and they tell us THEN that since my boyfriend had a cosigner that she would have to sign as well ending our old contract before we could sign the new one. The co signer lives all the way in ROCKFORD. We obviously couldn't get the signed paper until the following monday at least since they aren't open sunday and we would have to travel to get it! We got the signed paper to them on monday and because that made it a 28 day notice instead of a 30 day, they charged us 2 DAYS rent on the old apartment even though we weren't there. Talk about squeezing every nickle and penny out of us that they could!
When we were in the process of moving to the two bedroom we were told they would have to look at our carpets and etc to see if our dog deposit and regular deposit could transfer from our old apt. We didn't even get back half of our initial deposit of $750! The dog never made a mess on the carpets nor did we. Not to mention we shampood the thing twice in the year that we lived there. The carpet was also cut and not glued down on one entire section of the living room floor. At my old apartments (Ashford) they took out only what it cost to shampoo the carpets and I got all of the rest of my deposit back. If you ask them to fix something they half *** everything. Even the little things like ALL the outlet covers being way crooked just shows how half *** they do everything. Not to mention during the move to the two bedroom we get a letter saying that they undercharged us $50 bucks back in May of 08 (11 months ago)! THEIR ERROR! Makes me think the only reason they told us when they did was because they knew we wouldn't pay it and they could take it out of the deposit! WHICH THEY DID. And they wouldn't transfer our deposit money that we did get back over when they decided what we were getting back. We had come up with all the deposits again up front at one time and then get a check again later of what they decided we could have back.
Also the two bedroom apartment is VERY noisy and the windows at both places let in ALOT of cold air despite the fact that heat is included...its cold.
I don't recommend living here! Again, the management is horrible
