Thinking Of Renting Mccullough?

First off McCullough will screw you the first opportunity they get and make you promises they will not keep. I stayed with McCullough for 2 years, and I was never late on a payment and had little complaints to make towards them. When I originally moved into one of their residences they did not clean the place once before I moved in (they explained since I subleased for 1 month of the previous tenants lease that I was responsible for the cleaning). This means I moved into an unclean home. I disregarded that fact and continued staying anyways without doing complaining about it as the first complaint was not addressed anyways. The ceiling leaked badly and that to this day is still not fixed (regardless of how many times I called). Unless they fixed it during the time they could not find someone to rent from them. It got to the point where I was swarmed with carpenter ants all inside the walls of my home and was never address regardless of the times I called.
The washer and dryer was very old when I moved in. The washer ended up eating a whole load of of my clothes to unwearable condition. When I addressed this with McCullough they said that they would give me a new washer and I disregarded the clothes as McCullough said they couldn't do anything about it. So they took my washer and said they "fixed it." They put it back into my home only to find that it ate my clothes again. I told them I wanted reimbursement and they told me that they would (I have yet to see that reimbursement). It was then they took my washer back and told me I would get a new one. A month later they finally gave me a new washer, I called and asked if they would be willing to reimburse me for the times I had to was my clothes at the laundry mat for a month, they said they would (I have not seen this reimbursement as well). A little later down the road my dryer started having problems, and it ate my clothes. I talked to McCullough again and they took my dryer 3 times saying they fixed it and each time it ate my clothes. It wasn't until the furious fourth call that they finally did something about it. I asked about my reimbursements and they said they couldn't do anything about it since there's no proof that it was the utilities that ate my clothes. (but they told me they would reimburse me previously) When i said my 60 dollar zip up hoody is still stuck in the dryer they said that they would reimburse me and would get me a new dryer. My Hoody got thrown away and I got a new dryer so I didn't argue with that. This is just a few things that had happened during my stay with McCullough.
This excludes the mouse problem that didn't get addressed. I killed a mouse every week and no matter how many times I called there was nothing done. I had comforters stored in the closet that mice that were shredded and defecated on (the pest problem was also never addressed). When I Finally moved out McCullough decided that since the house wasn't clean to their standards they took my 700 dollar deposit and said that I also owed them 400+ dollars for additional cleaning charges. The place was never cleaned from day one. I brought my complaints to McCullough again and they then told me since there was no proof of this in writing of my verbal reimbursements that they would not even wave my 400+ dollars worth of cleaning. Regardless of me moving into the home which was never professionally cleaned anyways. They told me it was my responsibility since I subleased for the month but I created a new lease with McCullough. Generally in a new lease you start from a clean duplex that they verbally told me that they would get it taken care of. Of course they never took care of this either. The walk-through consisted of the management walking through the house while the previous tenants furniture was still in the house. The second walk-through was with all of my stuff in the house.
I'm sure many of you who've lived in McCullough has experienced this. My advice if you are living in a current McCullough owned home, find someone to sublease so the charges won't get dumped on you. At least you won't end up with a 400+ dollar charge on your tab. That's my experience anyways - “Heed my warning.”
