Apartment Review for Cedar Crest Apartments

We absolutely HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE this place!!! We've had nothing but trouble and they treated our roommate like crap. Threatened her that if she didn't sign the lease before move in, she couldn't stay there. Then they proceeded to lose the lease the next 4 times she went to the office. She had to take off work early, be late, miss lunch, all for nothing. They lost our keys the day of move-in and I had to pay my movers to stand there for 45 minutes while they tracked down a maintenance man just to let us in. Then the apartment REEKED of cigarettes - it was horrible and nasty, and we're even smokers! The place was not cleaned - it had just been given a wipe down and vacuum. They won't fix anything - they try to lie to you and tell you it can't be fixed, it's just a condition of apartment living, blah blah. I grew up in apartments so I know when they're full of it. Our sink kept backing up and they wouldn't fix it until it finally overflowed and we couldn't use it at all one day. They got new management but that didn't really help. These people are rude, they don't care about their tenants, the quality of tenants is very poor, and security sucks!! I've seen off duty cops cruise the parking lot once or twice (in my year of living there) and only seen the actual security people once. We called them about someone illegally parking in our paid for carport, and they said they'd come by. Except we watched and as of 6 hours later no one had shown up, and by then it was midnight. And speaking of our "year" lease, it's really an "11 month and 2 weeks" lease. We moved in June 1st, yet our lease is up May 19, so I have to try to find someplace to move into in the middle of the month (yeah right). If you want to stay to the end of the month, Cedar Crest will charge you $125 on top of regular month's rent!! DO NOT MOVE IN TO THESE APARTMENTS!!! TELL EVERYONE YOU CAN NOT TO MOVE IN TO THESE APARTMENTS!!!
Notes on the ratings: security is non-existant - in fact a cop was shot in the face a few months ago (and I'm in a nice area). Appearance/upkeep - oh the outside looks great, they repaint, it looks very nice, nice landscaping. But they don't do squat for the inside - you walk into the inside hallway and there's holes in the wall, it hasn't been painted in years, my actual apartment is a piece of crap - really shoddy workmanship, even for apartments.
