Review Title:   Not As Bad As Some Say...
Reviewer:   Anonymous
Review Date:   6/23/2007

I called Bardstown Forest home from 2005 - 2007, and while there were a few issues, I don't regret having lived there at all. The buildings are in fairly good shape, there's plenty of parking, and it's in close proximity to a lot of places - interstates, shopping, hospitals, etc. The management and maintenance are helpful and take care of problems in a timely manner. Many reviews on this website say the exact opposite, but considering that I and many others in the complex never had any difficulties, those individuals were likely bad tenants who misinterpreted or exaggerated things or who were dealt with just as they should have been.

Drawbacks. Many of these reviews on this website say that the apartments are in poor condition and that the HVAC is bad. Thats really not the case. My one bedroom was in no worse shape than any other 25 year-old apartment in town. If I did have a problem, I told maintenance, and they fixed it that simple. Regarding the HVAC, the complex is on a centralized system. So, tenants cannot switch from heat to A/C or vice versa on their own. However, aside from a week or two in the spring and fall when the system is adjusted, the apartments stay at a comfortable temperature.

The only real problem at Bardstown Forest is some of the people who live there. 99% of the folks are wonderful people, and Im proud to have known them as neighbors. However, some are inconsiderate and dont care about others or their community noise, litter, leaving the laundry facilities a mess, sitting beat up old furniture all around the dumpster, letting their kids do whatever, etc. When I left Bardstown Forest, the problem was improving. Its not something the management can control. So, if it is to continue to improve, more good people need to move in over there. I left to be closer to work, but Id still live there if my circumstances were different. Theres nothing wrong with Bardstown Forest, and Id recommend it to anyone in Louisville whos looking for a reasonable apartment.
