I think most if these people are way over exagerating. I have lived here for over three years now. When I moved in I moved from Ohio and rented from the website. When I got here it was by far not the greatest. Since the new owner and management took over it has turned around 200%. The building has never looked better with all the new hallways, pool area, lobby and now the new fitness center. Yes there have been some issues but its almost 100 years old. They have spent a ton of money to fix it up. There have been no problems with the hot water any more and I have NEVER seen a bug. The location is amazing. Parking for only $40.00 downtown in a secured garage with a private entrance into the building a steal!! I love living here and just signed another years lease. Just my opinion.

If you have a high floor...the views are spectacular. But the cooleness of the view and living downtown wears off soon. It's a pain in the *** to carry groceries from the garage to your apt. If a neighbor compalins you are too loud, you are threatened with eviction. This place has so much potential, but the crack-addict tenants and ******** managment **** it up. It seems cool, but don't by fooled. This place may be great in 5 years but thge ******** outways the great benefits.

If you're relatively low maintenance resident, this place is perfect. I can't say that I've had great experiences with maintenance or the initial condition of the apartment, but like the other reviews say - if you're looking for something of great price and location, then this is perfect. In general, I haven't had any problems with pests or management.
When I moved in, the apartment had a trash barrel in the middle of the floor under the air conditioning unit and was half full. All through the summer my air conditioner leaked and maintenance was at my apartment several times. Cold air also never reached my bedroom, a hole was cut in my ceiling to fix the ducts and never replaced (6 months later). I've had other miscellaneous repairs over the time mostly around the HVAC unit and maintenance is relatively slow to respond (2+ days sometimes). The HVAC unit is located inside the apartment and can somewhat be a little noisy but it's in the living room so doesn't bother me during the night.
It's rooftop parking in the adjacent parking structure for $40 per month. I've never had any surprises in terms of scratches/dents nor any theft issues. It can be a hassle bringing groceries in from parking but you get used to it. Kitchen is a little small - which can be the only thing I'd say about the place itself and you only get a miniature stove, no dishwasher.
Location is great and Louisville is relatively safe when compared to other cities. Homeless people rarely both you and there are hardly any "suspect" type characters walking the streets. Traffic isn't bad commuting out of the city in the morning nor back into the city in the evening. 4th Street Live is less than a block away, Starbucks is downstairs, and it's a 10 minute walk to riverfront. Management is pouring money into fixing the place up - new carpeting in the halls, new lighting, new paint, fixing up the lobby area... it's a nice place and I'd certainly recommend it to you.

The general manager is a real sleaze ball but you can't beat the location and pricing. Kentucky Towers are located one block over from Fourth Street Live in the heart of downtown Louisville.
They have security on hand until midnight on the weekdays and 4:00 AM (I believe) on weekends. The security is fine once you're inside the building, but I sure wish the city would clean up the people that come out on the streets after midnight. I don't let my girlfriend walk into the building by herself after dark.
We couldn't be happier with the apartment itself. Fantastic location, large space, tall ceilings, fairly thick walls. The paint and carpet could have been a higher quality but that's fairly standard for all apartment complexes.
Overall, it's a nice place to live. The management and maintenance are both terrible but seem to be getting better.
