Apartment Reviews for Peterson Popham
Rude and Unresponsive Management

Our roof leaked from June of 2005 until January of 2006. We called numerous times and only got voicemail, and rarely ever heard back from the management. By the time we moved out there was significant water damage and mold on the walls from the main leak as well as a few others. The maintenance crew was helpful when they came out, and they were very nice when they did our final walkthrough, but the management rarely ever sent them out. The only source of heat in the apartment was an ancient gas space heater in one room with that didn't have a fan to spread the heat. The maintenance man told us that we could try to call to get a new fan, but that the management never paid for one so it would probably be a waste of time. We lived in a building at 1361 S. Floyd Street, and the area is terrible. Our mail was stolen several times and there were constantly loud arguments coming from the other apartments. If you do have to sign a lease with these people make sure you understand the contract very well. There's a part of the lease (section #8 on mine) that requires you to give 60 days notice before your lease expires that you intend to leave. If you don't give this notice they will charge you. Do everything in writing and save every correspondence you have with them, because they'll screw you if you don't. We ended up getting our entire security deposit back because we did everything right and kept everything in writing, but they obviously look for the slightest excuse to keep your deposit or charge you more. <P>
