If you are a looking for a cheap place and don't care about the living conditions, then this is a great place for you. If you do care don't live here. First of all there are big **** roaches (as the staff would call it, "oh those are just wood roaches) Believe me we are not dirty people, we found one of these bad boys the fist day we moved in! YUCK! Then the heat and air doesn't even work half the time, and then the water gets shut off several times. We have been here since Oct. and the water has been shut off about 3 times and the hot water has been gone for 3 times. It is very aggravating. And it April and we have had really nice days and the lawn has not been cut, its like a hay field in our back area, my 4 pound dog doesnt even like to use the bathroom out there. I have lived is lots of apartments and by far this is the worse. Cant wait till my lease is up!

I moved into the Summit Apartments in Feb. of 2007. For the first year I lived in a 1 bedroom unit. At that time the rent for the 1 bed room was $490 this included heat/air/water. Though it only had 1 bedroom for me I had lots of room. When I met my husband the space in a 1 bedroom became an issue so we moved into a 2 bedroom unit with washer and dryer hookups. The rent increased to $590 a month but, I also have a pet. The heat and air is still included and the personal electric only costs about $30 a month. Befored moving in here, I checked out several complexes. Though the rent was cheaper the complexes did not offer free heat and air and it seemed most places were starting to charge for water/sewage and the units were not a nice on the inside or the outside. During my application process here and other places, I found the most places would allow just anyone to live there. At the Summitt though, a background check was required. There are a list of non-felonies as well as felonies that if found on the back ground check elimanates you from being able to rent from them. I found this to be a reassuring measure to keep out trouble out and assure safety. As with all leases there are penalties if you terminate your lease early. I have read reviews elsewhere were people complained about this issue. It's a contract, if you break the contract you have to pay the penalty. I haven't had to talk the the office staff much or put in work orders often. But, when I have the staff has been nice and the work order was completed quickly. The maintance and grounds keepers are always present and are always friendly in passing. The only real maintance issue I have encountered is the water being turned off several different times. It has been annoying because I work second shift at a local hospital but, when I have returned at night the water has been turned back on. I have never had to pay rent later here, but they do ask that if you have an issue paying on time that you contact the office. It seems to me that if they are asking for you to contact the office if your rent is going to be late, they may be able to work with you. Again, I don't know personally if that's true. As far as neighbors; I have lived in two different building, once on the third floor and now on the second. I have only had one problem with noise from my neighbors. Yes, sometimes I can here the people above me walk around, but that is to be expected. I have never had an issue with bugs, the unit is sprayed every three months. Nor have I had an issue with mice. The complex does sit on top of a large incline surround by woods. It's off the beaten path which not only makes it peaceful but, I belive it makes it safer. It is a pain during the winter when it snows. Though the management make sure the hill is plowed most of the time it's not during my work hours. But, again I work second shift. The only two drawbacks is that because the heat/air is included, you can only get heat during certain months and you can only get air during certain months. I do mind when it gets hot in March that I can not turn on the air, but overall I think it works out to my advantage. And the parking; there are spaces in front of the unit but the the time I arrive home I usually have to park at the end of the complexes in general parking because the spaces are filled. All in all I like living here.
