Fairway View Apartments
2225 College Drive Ofc
Baton Rouge, LA 70808

I moved into Phase I in 2002. At that time it was not completily ghetto, but over the course of the next 2 years the place became very dark (if you know what I mean. Management started accepting secton 8 and HUD subsidy in late 2003 and the place went down from there.
I had positive views of the place while I was in Phase I and when I needed a larger apartment I moved to Phase II this locked me into this apartment until the end of 2004.
Phase II seems nicer because it is further back but because it is further back you are more apt to deal with shady people and less lighting. I remember one day I caught some guy peeking in peoples windows behind the apartments. I called the police who arrested him. I was later told by a friend who looked into it for me that this guy had been thrown off the property multiple times.
Some people might like this complex because of the pools. I should warn you that I have caught many times people pissing in the pool. Generally it is young black youths who could care less about anything.
Further the reason this place is "fairwayview" is it overlooks a public golf course. Your car WILL be dented by golfballs. The golf course will do nothing about it and the only way you can do anything about it is if you yourself catch the golfer.
To make matters much worse in mid 2004 my wifes car was stolen from in front of the apartment. Management did absolutily nothing about it and really could care less when I told them about it. When my lease expired I couldnt get out of there fast enough.
This place is too expensive to put up with that kind of crap.
My advice to any college student looking for a place near LSU, stick to Tiger Land. The apartments may be crap and the area may be noisy, but you will only have to deal with drunken frat boys rather than criminals.
