For the most part, I am satisfied with my individual unit. I have a good deal I suppose...I was able to lock into $705 a month (cable, highspeed internet, alarm, and water included) before they raised rent. Electric bill is normally pretty low. My one bedroom one bath is a bit small but enough space for me. BUT... THIS COMPLEX IS A JOKE. I wish I would have stayed at my apartment around Sherwood (I only moved here to be closer to school). The people in the managment office are totally incompetent. Whenever something goes wrong in/with my apartment, which is ALL THE TIME, it takes about a week on average for the the problem to be resolved/fixed...And that's only after I call them every other day to remind them. It doesn't matter if its something important either. They will treat your major PRESSING problem as if you have asked for something minor. It appears that there is only one repair guy repsonsible for the whole complex. Furhtermore, there is no number to call if you need immediate assistance on the weekend or if it is after office hours.

The gates and supposedly secure walk-through entry ways are ALWAYS broken. In order to get out of my apartment after or during a hard rain, I literally have to walk in ankle deep water. The trash dumpsters are ALWAYS overflowing. They only seem to have them emptied about once a week, if that, but it is clearly not often enough. Im always afraid to dump my trash because I know that I will have to walk through a swarm of flies. It smells like a toilet around here most of the time. The groundskeepers or whoever is in charge of litter, if there is anybody like that employed by Oakbrook, must be on a perpetual vaction.

Ladies, and I am one, Im honestly unsure about the crime factor, but I believe it too dark around here. I even notified the office that one of the lights on the grounds were out and it didn't get replaced until two weeks later...That's when I first moved in and it should've been a sign of what was to come. And again, the gates are a joke so, there you go.

Don't let the manicured grounds surrounding the well maintained and pleasantly active management office con you into thinking that what you see will be a representation of what YOUR life will be like here, because it won't.
