Apartment Reviews for Park Fontaine Apartments
Review from a Resident

I've lived here for 3 years. It was better before Katrina (as was Baton Rouge, in general), but it's still okay. I like it, it's in a great location for an LSU student, lots of amenities (malls, food, Walmart) nearby. I recommend it. The downfalls, in no particular order, are that parking can be a real challenge at times, so having guests at night is problematic...and there's no room for them to expand the parking, either. While it's a gated community, people still get in after the gate is opened by another person, and sometimes the gate doesn't work. Maintenance is good/timely, but in the past (not sure lately) they haven't completely finished what they started, and in my experience, larger jobs tend to get cheap quick-fixes. If living in the front of the community near the exits, loud car music from other residents and guests can be disturbing. The office is not on-site here. Good things include: overall it's a pretty quiet complex, great location in town, there is a pet deposit (not a non-refundable fee like other places), rent is reasonable for post-Katrina (no damages received from Katrina or Rita that I've heard), neighbors have always been friendly, I've neither experienced nor heard of any car thefts or damages past the occasional door ding, and they have decent lease renewal incentives like a free carpet cleaning, mini-blinds or ceiling fan installation. There are no loud trains going by in the middle of the night, no nearby rivers/streams to flood, and it's far enough away from LSU to avoid game day traffic near the campus and game noise, but close enough to be within a 15 minute drive. It has suited me well, and I intend to renew my lease again in the next couple of months. <P>
