Apartment Review for Bell Downs Apartments & Townhouses

Although the townhouses are affordable and relatively spacious, the management style is contradictory. First off, the mail situation is extremely difficult to deal with. The boxes are tight, so our mail is often crumpled. There is no drop box; mail must be brought to the office or brought to a Postal Service drop box. We never felt comfortable having management see our outgoing mail. If that wasn't bad enough, any mail that could not fit in our tiny box was brought to the office for us to pick up at management's leisure. There were many times it took up to three days to get my packages from the office. Eventhough, we went during regular business hours there would be no one there. Very frustrating! When we moved in, the carpet downstairs was new, but the carpet upstairs was old and stained. The window blinds throughout the house were dirty and impossible to clean due to the dirt clinging to the nicotine left, along with stink, from the previous, smoking, tenant. The dish washer was from the 80's and was missing pieces and didn't work well. Management allows smokers, but won't allow pets (even with a deposit), unless, of course you are management. Management lives on site and had a dog. So, besides the thin , possibly lead based paint walls, ugly wood panel walls, stinky, sticky blinds, barely working appliances, stained carpets, and the hypocrisy of the management's style, it was not the worst place we could have chosen to reside.
