All these people don't know what they are talking ( over a year ago )

Reviewed by: Anonymous
I have been staying at this apartment cumminity for over a year now. This has been the most pleasant place I have ever lived. There are so many amenties that make this place a wonderful community to enjoy your stay. I have never had a problem with maintenence. Everytime I needed a fix, it was a quick fix. They were very professional, as well as management. They are very polite!! I strongly recommend these apartments to many of my friends. They have moved in and they thank me all the time for recommending them to this Gated Community. I have never felt threatend here. So don't let the people that have nothing to do except sit around and find things that don't even exist around here to make a complaint about everything under sun. Well, they are not worth is to me. Forget them, if they are so unhappy, why don't they just leave and let friendlier tenants move in your apartment!!!! They will understand once they move .

MANAGEMENT

First off I have been living here with my fiance' for nearly 4 years now...and before the storm it was really nice, but Pelican Pointe was sold to Dial Equalities by the Bryan Company...the Bryan Company management was Excellent...Cindy was a blessing; I and hated to see her go....on the other hand the Dial management just can not seem to get it together....they switch management every 2 months and that's awful...it shows lack of leadership. Before Pelican Pointe was sold to Dial there was activities for the kids (like Easter Egg Hunts and crawfish boils etc...)...Byran Management knew who you were when you called them because they built the bond with the residence and for the we loved them. When Dial took over it was a lot of prejudice and non communication with the residence and it was complete chaos. After everything settled Dial just kept changing management..as matter of fact management just changed last week!!!! Dial has tried to kept the transition cool by throwing a Bar B Q by the pool last year with a live band which was very nice. The Dial management is not bad, but its just ever changing...one day you might see one face then the next different. Lack of leadership...

AMMENTIES

Lets say on the weekend you want to go shoot some hoops with your buddies or maybe your son! LMAO you can forget it! On any given weekend there are approximately 40 guys on the court playing basketball that does not even live in the complex. There is a sign that read if you are a non resident then you are trespassing, but what do they care. They tear up the gols and It's horrible! Plus there are people jogging on the tennis court when there is a jogging trail around the complex...its so ridiculous! Plus to the basketball players the bushes are toilets...!

MAINTENENCE

One word for maintenance HORRIBLE!!! Maintenance does not do anything..I really don't even know why they hire a maintenance crew...they ride in those golf carts all day going back and forth to Shell alllllllllll dayyyyyy lonnnnnnng! You call them and tell them that your apartment has a leek or how about FOUR LEEKS SINCE KATRINA and they tell you that they are coming right, WRONG! LMAO, DONT EVER COUNT ON THAT **** EVER! NEVER! TRUST ME YOU HAVE TO BE A PLUMMER OR BE A HANDY MAN TO LIVE HERE! SMH

TOLIET RULE

THE TOILET RUNNING OVER IS A ON GOING PROCESS! MAKE SURE YOU "HAVE" A PLUNGER AND THE "CHEAPEST" TOILET PAPER ON THE MARKET AND DO NOT USE MORE THEN 5 TO 10 SQUARES TO WIPE! If you don't do as the above mentioned....YOU WILL HAVE "****" LITERALLY EVERYWHERE~!!!

DOG ****

IF YOU DONT OWN A DOG OH WELL AND IF YOU DO COOL...BUT THERE IS DOG **** EVERYWHERE....THERE ARE THE POOP SCOOP BAGS BUT RESIDENTS DON'T USE THEM...SO YOU MIGHT JOG RIGHT INTO **** ONE DAY ON THE JOGGING TRAIL..!

PARKING

IF YOU WORK AFTER 6 PM OR YOU ARRIVE HOME WHEN THE SUN HAS SET THEN YOU WON'T FIND A PARKING SPACE PERIOD!

CONTROL ACCESS GATE

THIS IS A HOT MESS! LOL...THE ACCESS GATES ARE ALWAYS BROKEN AND ITS GOING ON 5 MONTHS THAT WE WERE SUPPOSE TO RECIEVE A CODE AND THE GATES WERE SUPPOSE TO BE CLOSED AT NIGHT....NOPE! WRONG! PLUS ON TOP OF THAT YOU SUPPOSE TO FEEL REALLY SAFE WHEN YOU HAVE CONTROL ACCESS GATES BY THE ENTRANCE WAYS, BUT MOST OF THE COMPLEX DONT EVEN HAVE A GATE AROUND IT...SO LOL THOSE ARE A JOKE...YOU CAN WALK RIGHT ON THE PROPERTY LIKE NOTHING! WITH OR WITHOUT THE GATES!

STEALING/LOUD MUSIC

ONE OF MY GOOD FRIENDS LIVES IN PELICAN PONTE AND AFTER THE STORM HIS 60,000.00 HARLEY WAS STOLEN...AND THAT WAS NOT BY A RESIDENT, BUT BY SOMEONE THAT DIDNT LIVE HERE...THERE IS PEOPLE CUTTING THROUGH PELICAN POINTE TO BEAT THE LIGH.....SCOPING OUT WHAT PEOPLE OWNS AND TAKES THEM WHY PEOPLE OR SLEEPING OR GONE...PEOPLE DRIVE THROUG PLAYING REALLY LOUD MUSIC ALL THE TIME!

MOLD

After the storm there was mold in my apartment as well as my friend that live about 2 buildings away...she begged PP to change the carpet...PP refused...PP MANTINANCE came to clean her carpet with bleach and water and refused the change the carpet where mold spores were found...PP informed my friend that they would have to test to mold...PP never returned....It was two weeks...then my friend and I tested the mold and learned that the mold was actually alive and it was dangerous...she informed PP and they informed her that they would switch her to another unit.....but the change did not take place until 3 months later when her lease was up.

COMMENTS

To the person that commented and stated that there were thugs and section 8 people in Pelican Pointe. I took it upon myself to call the office to inquire about that myself. Pelican Pointe states that they do not have Section 8...neither do they accept FEMA Vouchers! That's was just a stereotype...most of the people here in Pelican Pointe are nice, quite and very hard working. If you have children there is a great play area. There is a lot of Slidell Police Officers that stay on site. Plus military! So its very safe and inviting! The only down fall is the traffic cutting through, basketball non-residence and the MAINTENCE!

***YOU KNOW WHEN RENT IS DUE BECAUSE THE GRASS GETS CUT AND THE COMPLEX LOOKS WONDERFUL!***

It is very nice place to live, my fiance' and I feel very safe, but the Maintenance is TERRIBLE! They are lazy and do not do anything that they are suppose to do.

I have lived here for over two years and I have to say that I have found Pelican Pointe to be a great place to live. Anytime I have a problem with my apartment, they are out to fix it that same day usually. I found the apartment to be well kept when I moved in and have even recommended it to friends. I did read the other review about the pool, and now that the tropical storms are over with, it is not green anymore!!! My kids love to swim in both of the pools and ride their bikes around the complex. And as far as the section 8 people that are supposed to live here, I called the office and spoke to them about it. They don't even accept section 8 here! The people in the office are always very nice and help me out in any way they can. I personally would recommed Pelican Pointe to anyone. I enjoy living here and plan to stay.
