Review for Lakeside Furnished Apartments

I ran across this ad for this place on Craigslist. One furnished bedroom with all utilities included for $900.00 per month, and 2 bedrooms for $1100 dollars per month with all utilities included. I was extremely curious about this place, so I checked online to try to find some pictures of their apartments. To no avail, I couldn't find any. I called the management office to set up an apointment. They would never answer the phone. You leave them a message, and they would call you back from a blocked number. I went by to see the place, and they left the apartment door unlocked because no employees are onsite. I walked into the place and the smell made me sick. It smelled like an old dilapitated apartment, in an abandoned building. The walls were not freshly painted. The kitchen was filthy!!!. There was dirt on top of the refrigerator, dirt on top of the microwave oven, the stove's exhaust fan attached to the wall was absolutely filthy. They had some old furniture set up in there, that looked like it had been retrieved from someone's garbage in a bad part of town. I called the woman, and told her that I didn't like it. She asked me to check out the newly renovated apartment on the first floor. It looked like they attempted to update the cabinets, but two of the cabinet drawers were missing. Her excuse was they were broken, and they took them out to replace them. Hum, $900 a month, no utility fees, and no application fee. I thought this place was a bargain. I guess they didn't have an application fee, because they ran out of applications. She asked me to write down my information on a piece of paper, and sign it stating that I give them permission to check my references. She told me to leave the paper in one of the open apartments, so it could be retrieved later. I should have just turned around and went home when I first entered the building, and there was a sign over the mailbox that read, We have Hot Water Now. I feel like I may have just been punked.
