Review for Americana Southdale Apartments

I visited the property with hopes of moving there. I figured that since I have had a wonderful experience with other properties managed by the same company, that this would also be a nice place. The exterior of the property was decent with tall shady trees. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!! FIRST, while driving through the property to get to the vacant unit I noticed that there were quite a bit of trash on the ground including empty bottles, burger wrappers and the like. I thought to myself okay maybe since it is a holiday weekend the trash collecters are not working. SECOND, the first unit that the leasing agent (three months new to the company) showed me seemed to be okay...that is until I opened the dishwasher. I noticed that there was some food residue AND two, maybe three hatched roach eggs! Although I didn't say anything, I KNEW THEN that I was NOT going to lease there. So the young consultant asked me if I would be interested in seeing another unit. I said just to make her feel good I'd go ahead and look at the other unit. THAT unit looked much better, that is until I OPENED THE FRIDGE!!!!!! Before opening the fridge, I opened the dishwasher...it was clean. AS SOON AS I OPENED THE BOTTOM DOOR OF THE FRIDGE......OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 MAYBEY 6 ROACHES SCATTERED FROM UNDERNEATH THE INSULATING RUBBER. I turned to the leasing agent and told her ROACHES IN THE FRIDGE? I AM READY TO GO!!!! I DON'T NEED TO SEE ANYTHING ELSE. THE WORST THING ABOUT THAT EXPERIENCED, IS THAT SHE DID NOT SEEM TO BE THE LEAST BIT SHOCKED. I looked at other Maryand Management properties in the area and was realy impressed. This is undoubtedly the worst and only negative experience I have had with MM.
