I initially moved into this community while they were still working on it. The kitchens are completely renovated with great cabinets, modern refrigerators, dishwashers, and even and a great microwave and stove. The Bathrooms were renovated with poor workmanship. The apartments are said to be renovated...I see nothing more than paint on paint which is falling off. The apartments are relatively small and the prices are ridiculous. I moved in paying 760.00 for a one bedroom. In July 05 when the lease expires, it will be over 880.00 for a one bedroom. Keep in mind the only thing worth bragging about in this place is the kitchen. Some electricity is included provided you do not go over certain wattage. Gas, water, and trash disposal is included in the rent. The community exhibited a lack of planning when developing the property and is considering limiting the parking to ONE vehicle per home (absurd). Above all else, there is a security gate with a guard posted after 5pm until 7am and all throughout the weekends. The problem with that is when you have visitors trying to enter the property without a gate key you have to wait in line behind them until the security guard gets all their information (instead of having two separate gates, one for tenants and one for visitors). Also if you have any shipments coming to you throughout the day that can be placed outside your door, forget it...it is almost impossible for any postal courier to enter the community if you are not home. I believe the only one allowed to enter is UPS. However if you are home, there is an automated security system that allows your visitor to call to your homes, and you can grant him of her access. The apartments are poorly ventilated. If you were to stare from the inside at the door to an apartment, you can clearly see large amounts of light around the door, just as light gets in, so does cold or heat, and escapes from your apartment as well(higher heating/cooling bill).
I have officially established the employees at the leasing office are complete imbesils. They have poor knowledge of the property and the response to every question asked is let me consult with the property manager. The parking lot rules are stern but great in my opinion. The only complain I have is how you are only allowed to park front end in when near a curb because the property manager does not want the sidewalk to endure damage from vehicles underbodies. There is however no carwashing, cleaning, vehicle maintenance allowed in the community parking. Overall, if you are looking for something close to a retirement home for the same price, the Metropolitan of Baltimore is it.
