Review for Arborview At Riverside Apartments

I chose Arborview based upon its stellar reputation in the community. I do have neighbors who are as happy as can be, but that is not the case with me.

When I was given the keys to my apartment, it was far from move-in ready. The bathrooms were filthy, closet doors were broken, the kitchen counter was falling apart and most of the light bulbs were burnt out.

I had trouble keeping the apartment cool, but was convinced by the maintenance man that my expectations were just "too high"...that it takes time for the cooling unit to do its job. Fall came around very soon so it was no longer an issue...for a while, anyway.

However, in January, when temperatures plummeted, my heat stopped working altogether. During January and February, maintenance made approximately six trips to my apartment to "fix" the problem, never really telling me what was wrong. All I knew was that my heat would work for a few days or a few weeks, if I was lucky, and then conk out. Most often it would go out on a Friday night and because I was not provided with an emergency number, it would be Monday before anything could be done. I was told at some point that it was a freon leak and that it had been fixed. Now that it is warm, my cooling is disfunctional every 2-3 weeks. Note that this started in January (well, really, in August when I first moved in). It is now June and for the last three months, my cooling has not functioned reliably. I have had a total of 18 days in which my apartment has been colder than 64 degrees or hotter than 85 degrees. The problem has not been fixed and I have not been compensated in any way.

My utilities during the winter were excessively high because the apartment was operating on emergency heat (when it worked) quite frequently.

All I can say to anyone considering Arborview is that it is a complete and total crapshoot as to the quality of your rental experience here. Mine has been hell and I can't wait to move!
