Review for Remington Place Apartments

1. Security - new management put up a sign stating don't let anyone in without a key and distributed brochures about how they will have strangers arrested. Good idea - if the tenants knew how to read and comprehend. Police dept. has officers living on-site.....I think.
2. Parking - the one good point about this place....plenty of parking available for those of you who don't mind your car getting broken into every now and then.
3. Appearance - looks good.....again, until the trashy tenants decide the extra 2 feet is too far to throw away their coke bottle.
4. Mgt. and staff - sometimes good....sometimes not. I haven't had any problems with them, but have heard some horror stories. New Manager looks promising, but the jury is still out.
5. Maintenance - competent, but seems to have a problem with understanding the very basic Landlord/Tenant rule of giving 24 hrs notice to the tenant before coming in. I have arrived home from work to find they have been here and gone - doing good work, but......where did that camera go? Seriously, nothing missing, but they have left messes behind after doing UNANNOUNCED maintenance - you know, the NON-EMERGENCY type.
6. Condition of unit - thank God I don't pay utilities here. All taps leak, paint job sucks (peeling as I write), wind whistles through the windows and doors faster than a SR-71. On those monthly power outages and lack of heat/ac, it can get downright outdoorsy. Did I mention outages? Yep, no hot water on average once/twice a month and during those really hot/cold days it's a crap shoot as to whether your unit will work when you get home from a long day.
7. Noise level - WHAT DID YOU SAY? The upstairs neighbors are playing leapfrog with elephants right now and the guy down the hall needs a new battery for his hearing aid because his stereo/TV is up to about a 6.9 on the Richter. Not to mention the ignorant tenants again....yelling and screaming in the halls, blowing car horns at all hours, and generally showing their usual lack of class. Makes me wonder where they were the days their parents were supposed to be teaching manners and COMMON COURTESY.
8. Overall rating - Only if you can't find something else. It was very nice for the first 6 months I was here, but after dealing with the scumbag gangsta wannabes, non-caring neighbors, and people pissing in the elevators (another case of parents not teaching their kids in time) - NO WAY. Maybe things will improve, but my overall rating is about a 1.5............NOT RECOMMENDED.
