They Will Force Feed You Their Cable, Internet, An

Things were going great until just recently. Hickory Hills terminated my internet service (which I thought was great), telephone service, and cable TV service. They set up their own service for phone, internet, and cable TV and told us that if we wanted these services then the residents would be forced to use THEIRS or go without.


This is so they can reap the money from us for these things too.


Well let me tell you something. Their Cable TV service is fuzzy and has lines through it AND we lost half our channels, the internet is DOWN half the time and the other half it is slower than dial-up and the phone I ended up paying MORE for less.


I call and plead constantly to them but to no avail.


Internet ends up costing more for way less. Take theirs or none at all. Also the advertisment is false. They don't offer the speeds listed. Only 256k. I've done some tests and I usually produce about 25k speed most of the time. Thats about half of dial-up.


Cable ends up costing more for less. Take theirs or get rabbit ears. Lost half my channels.


Phone ends up costing more for less. Take theirs or get a cell phone.


ALSO:


DO NOT MOVE HERE. NOW THEY WANT ALMOST $3,000 FOR ME TO TERMINATE MY LEASE AND I CAN NOT LEAVE.


Not to mention the parking spots are SO narrow that you have to be a stunt driver to fit your car in them and then if you're fat forget getting your door open far enough to get out. I've got deep door dings all down both sides of my car from other residents.


I drive an F-150 as a second vehicle and I can NOT FIT IT into one of their spaces at all.


One thing they don't tell you is that their property is DIRECTLY across the street from a fire station and the fire whistle drowns out my surround sound on my TV on full blast. You can get over it but it takes several months to become acustomed to the ear shattering level of noise that thing produces. Be prepared to put your DVD on pause till its over and the fire trucks have pulled out with their noise blistering sirens. This memorable event also occurs at all hours of the night too.


The only pro in all these cons is that the maintenance is pretty good and quick and the mechanics are nice.
