Review for Glen Oak Apartments

Last month, we were without hot water for an entire day at least four times. Last week, we were compelled to leave our apartments unsecured to allow plumbing contractors access for some renovation. This week, the process is being repeated, and we will not have the use of our bathrooms overnight. No offers of alternate accomodation, no consideration on the rent.

In addition, because building contractors demolished our steps into the apartment, we had to enter the building on a 1x6 gangplank. God forbit that there was an emergency, or someone had dropped a match on that firetrap.

The property manager delivers notice of intrusions only the day before, in the late afternoon. It's a creative trick, so residents don't see the notices until they get home from work and don't have any chance to react or ask questions. The rental office closes at 5:00, and if you do manage to get hold of someone, they have no idea what you are talking about. But it keeps him in the letter of the law, so that's okay.

The only good thing to come from this is that we are seriously looking for a house. I can't wait to get the condo offer so I can laugh at it.
