Best Kept Secret - I Don't Want To Leave!

***UPDATE (3/19/07)***
Unfortunately, my roommate situation has fallen through, and I am no longer able to afford the 2 bedroom apartment I currently reside in. As of March 31st, I will be moving out of Security Park, but I will most certainly not forget this place! I am renting from a relative until I can get back on my feet, but I can guarantee that Security Park will be the first place I look if I need to move back into an apartment again.

***UPDATE (12/01/06)***
I have hardly any complaints about this place. It's quiet, I feel safe walking around the neighborhood at night... it's a great family environment. I get spiders in my apartment because I have a field behind my building, but once I put myself on the extermination list, they pretty much went away. The maintenance staff do great work, and in a timely manner. The rental office staff are welcoming and often go the extra mile to help out. Honestly, as long as they don't raise the rent too much at the end of the lease, I have no reason to leave.

***UPDATE (06/23/06)***
I've lived here for about 3 months, and this place is really great! Maintenance answers my requests usually within a day or two (3 at the most), and the noise levels are so low that I can't even tell I have neighbors sometimes. The only noise in the house comes from the water pipes behind the walls, which is usually to be expected on the first floor. The rental staff are friendly and courteous, which is a major relief, considering my past experiences. The landscaping company visits once or twice a week, so the community is gorgeous in comparison to neighboring areas. SSA and CMS are only 5 minutes away... I can see myself staying here for a long time.

First review (April 2006):
I recently moved into a two bedroom upgraded apartment here, and it's a gorgeous community! I'm living in the leasing center building... aside from the rental staff's heels on the floors above us during the day (and they're not that loud to begin with), it's a very peaceful place. I'm paying $775 for an apartment with no patio/balcony, and from what I've seen, it's a very good deal. The kitchen is huge (with built-in microwave and new oak cabinets), and there's more closet space than you'll ever need. For the most part, the leasing center staff are very kind, and seem to care about their tenants alot more than my previous residence (Gwynn Oaks Landing). Our toilet was leaking when we moved in, and within 2 hours of reporting it Monday morning, they had it fixed. My best friend moved into an apartment here 2 weeks before me, and she said maintenance fixed everything on her move-in checklist within 2 days of turning it in.

I have 2 minor complaints as of right now:
1. I wish we either didn't have to pay to use the laundry facilites ($1.75 a load for each machine), or had a washer/dryer in the unit.
2. We have to mail our rent in to corporate offices... It's not a huge deal, but slightly inconvenient, since I'm used to just dropping it off at the Leasing Center.

Like I said, I love this apartment. If you're willing to deal with a few minor inconveniences, it's a great deal.
