Rented: From 2005 To 2006

This place was great -- aside from the landlord's ignoring of a break-in that took place at our apartment in the first three months we were renting, and subsequent failure to do anything about protecting tenants from break-ins via the fire escape. The crook walked through an unlocked door on the ground, up the stairs on the fire escape, and broke into a number of apartments in the building. We asked that the door be fixed, it wasn't, we asked that better security measure be put in place, they weren't. We were lucky something like this didn't happen again for the rest of our lease.

Secondly, apparently Copley thinks they can change locks on tenant's aparmtents before leases are up. We did buy a condominium, but we also assured the company we would pay the final 2 months of our rent while we had been living in our new condo. But, lo and behold, we come back to get a few things we left in the apartment as we were moving out, and we can't get into the place because locks had been changed -- a MONTH AND A HALF BEFORE THE LEASE WAS UP. Needless to say, we don't plan to pay the final month's rent -- even though we had told them we would -- since we do not have access to OUR apartment for the last month of OUR lease.

In short, do yourself a favor and don't even consider renting with Copley.
