Both I and my husband lived in different apartments with Copley. Problems included: 1) Couldn't fix heat in winter no matter how many times they came. My apt. was the only cold one in the building so they ignored my complaints that it went down to 60 degrees when the temperature dropped below 40. They came 6 times until I gave up. 2) I got married and changed my name 2 months before my lease was up. Tried to get my new social security card mailed to me and it was returned b/c my name wasn't on the mailbox. It takes Copley 3 weeks to get a new name card for the mailbox and said they will FINE me if I put up a sign for the mailman saying my name had changed!!! 3) My husband's apt. got broken in to - they kicked down his door even through double locks. Luckily he wasn't home. 4) They have a constant problem with our back staircase - it smells like horrible mildew and flies breed there. People open the hall windows to get rid of the smell but that of course makes my apt. even colder. 5) Both my and my husband's apts. had problems with water temp. When you took a shower, you would get sudden blasts of freezing or scalding water most days. 6) My apt. has a dishwasher, but it doesn't really work so I stopped using it. 7) Floors are old hardwood floors so if you are living underneath somebody with a heavy tread, they can keep you up at night. The person above me likes to drop heavy things in the middle of the night. 8) My tub hot water tap moves to the right on its own, to hotter water. They fixed it once but it started moving again eventually. Luckily I like hot showers. 9) Once of my locks sticks from the inside - you can't turn the knob when inside the apt., and can only do so with the key from outside. I mistakenly locked my husband inside once and he had to find pliers to get himself out. Got that "fixed" too to no avail. 10) My apt. faced the alley, and there were people rummaging through dumpsters looking for cans at 6 am every day. They pushed rattling shopping carts full of cans by my apt. and woke me up two floors above them. <P>
