Apartment Review for The Garrison At 17

We lived here for one year. Whenever we had problems we would try to contact the property manager and we would almost never get a response, so instead we'd contact someone else in the company who wasn't in charge of the building but was kind enough to contact maintenance when needed. Our unit had electrical problems the entire time we were there, although they would randomly get better for short periods of time. The bathroom lights and outlets and several other outlets did not work. Electricians tried to fix it and were unsuccessful and that was that. Also, we had water leak into our apartment (soaking our entire mattress) from the outside wall when it rained, TWICE. And they just said, "sorry it must be from the brick remodelling they are doing on the outside of the building". Also, our apartment was robbed, as were at least two other units in our building (on separate occasions) during the one year we lived there. Make sure you keep your windows locked securely at all times. On the plus side, we always had hot water (though we took our showers in the dark), and the interior of the building was generally very clean and insect- and rodent-free. Also, amazing location but no parking unless you want to offer up big $$$ for a garage. Keep in mind that heat is not included in the rent, and it is electric.
Even though every apartment in Boston and especially Back Bay is overpriced, you can definitely find MUCH better deals than this place.
