i've lived at valley ranch for 3 years. we have an apartment in one of the newer buildings. my utility bills have never been more than $150 and i have a vaulted ceiling etc. the hot tub breaks often because people keep putting stuff into it (i can smell it and see the bubbles and color). i dont have a problem with noise, its certainly the quietest community i have ever lived in. i have talked to some neighbors who are unhappy, but they seem to be paying a lot less than i am and living in a much older building. their appliances arent as new, etc, and their utility bills are a bit higher. they have to call maintenance more. so i think you really get what you pay for. maintenance is good, at least for me, they always come within 24 hours and are very clean and friendly. office is open 7 days a week so thats nice for picking up packages and requesting service. i think some people are angry and blowing things out of proportion, i can imagine that i live at the same complex as they are describing. also, the fitness center was just updated with brand new cardio equipment, really really nice. i've lived in several places in ann arbor, this is by far the best, but think twice before renting the cheapest unit i guess. mine is a little more than i wanted to spend, but after 3 years and counting, i am SO happy i did.
