Positive Apartment Reviews and RatingsA great place to live on the north side of A2 ( over a year ago )
Reviewed by: Anonymous
I lived at Willowtree for 3 years while I attended college. If I hadn't thought there was something cheaper out there, I'd still be living there now. After moving to two different apartments, paying extremely cheap rent to expensive rent, I know now that I should have never left this place.
I'd have to say that the number one greatest thing about living here is their maintenance staff. Not only are they quick to respond, but the staff actually know what they're doing! I've had some minor problems (like the garbage disposal not functioning) to major problems (there was a hole in my bathroom ceiling from the water leaking from upstairs).
The second best thing is the free heat and water. Michigan winters are harsh and to not have to pay hundreds of dollars for heat is great for saving money.
The third best thing is the office staff. They are very serious in enforcing rules...such as noise violations. True the north campus residents are mainly quiet students, but you get the occasional party-er at 3am. Not only will the staff warn them for violating the noise ordiance, but they will follow up and ask if you've had anymore problems.
Unfortunately, because i made the mistake of moving the first time, it will be difficult for me to move back there because they have a fixed lease term from the end of august to early august. My current lease ends in July so I would have to sublet and store my stuff for a mon if I were to move back.
My advice to anyone on the fence between Willowtree and another place: do you homework, ask many questions and read the lease, but Willowtree is pretty solid.
