Review for Woodbury Gardens Apartments

I lived in a townhouse apartment for a little over two years. In those two years I called maintenance over 60 times for everything from a flooded basement (malfunctioning sump pump) to black mold in the bath tub to squirrels living in the attic. The maintenance team is really good about fixing things promptly, but I literally called them almost once a week for something. (The units are very old, even though the paint and grounds give a different impression). Electric and heating bills are always high ($250-300 per month) due to old drafty doors, windows, and basement. You are responsible for paying your own water (which I was fine with), but while I was out of town for nearly two months my monthly water bills was still as high as during the other months (approx. $50-60 per month). When I inquired about it, they told me that they don't measure water usage on an individual basis. They take the entire water bill for all of Woodbury Gardens and then divide it by the number of total tenants. Consequently, it doesn't matter how much water you conserve or use, you'll be playing the same. Although the places have several windows, there are no ceiling lighting (also attributable to its old construction). Consequently, you always feel like you are living in a cave, even with lamps, etc. All that said, the location is convenient for school goers and the grounds are kept in very good shape. If I were coming to Ann Arbor I would check out other places before deciding on this place.
