Apartment Reviews for Fairlane East Apartments - Dearborn

My husband and I rented a two bdrm condo/townhouse for 2 years, and we have few complaints. The initial management staff was friendly and helpful and the location was close to my place of work; however, the asst manager quit and then due to complaints, the manager was replaced. Maintenance are good about repairing/fixing problems in a timely manner but they were not always fixed properly and I had to submit multiple requests for the same items. The lighting near parking is inadequate because they fail to change light bulbs. Grounds are well kept. Security guards are available 24 hrs at the gated entrances but crime has been rampant especially during the day. Our neighbor's apt was broken into twice and she eventually left (reason unknown). I never felt unsafe but we were always cautious to keep blinds drawn, lights on, and doors locked. Neighbors are not friendly but they keep to themselves. Plenty of parking. Apartments/condos are older but well maintained with fresh paint and good carpet but they are not well insulated (heating and cooling costs were enormous!) even though we had a new furnace. Washer/dryer included but old (they replaced it during our lease). Problem with bugs but can have exterminators come in (paid for). Lease includes a Powerhouse gym membership while they are supposedly building an exercise room (not even started yet after 1.5 years). Had community activities around holidays such as Halloween, July 4th, Christmas. Discounts are available on rent for employees at Henry Ford, Ford Motor Co, and Oakwood Hospital.
