I Lived Here Almost 6 Years And Enjoyed It!

I liked living at Lake Forest and the only reason I moved was to go with my son and his family when he took a job out of state.

I always felt safe there. Were cars sometimes broken into? It's not a "gated community", so of course that sometimes happened. Just like it happened at the two complexes I lived in near Lansing before moving to Kalamazoo and all the other apartment complexes located in Kalamazoo.

Speaking of cars...the parking is adequate for tenents. Guest parking is limited on evenings and weekends. Parking only becomes a problem when uncaring tenants have multiple guests who stay from early evening until early morning. They fill up the tenant parking and the tenants must find other areas of the complex in which to park their cars. And, because the complex is pretty much landlocked, they have little room for expanding the guest parking.

As for maintenance, I thought it was good. The staff is professional, yet friendly. I seldom waited an unreasonable time (a day usually) to have a maintenance request taken care of...and on the first attempt. The only exception was if an emergency greater than mine needed attention first. And, when I called the office with my request they usually warned me of the situation.

The Management staff were always courteous, friendly, and as helpful as they could be. (After all, they do have to answer to the company who really manages the property!) And yes, they did know me by name and address. And no, they did not stop being nice to me after I signed a lease.

The only drawback to living at Lake Forest is the outside entry stairways in winter. Michigan winter's are not kind to any outdoor stairs or walkways. I felt the stair and sidewalk snow removal service could have been better. But then, I'm a senior citizen and just a little paranoid about ever falling...anywhere!

Yes, I would recommend Lake Forest to anyone. The price is right, the location and grounds are especially nice, and when treated with common courtesy, the entire staff will do all they can for you.
