Review for Oak Park Village Apartments

So far I like this place. I actually live in the townhomes. They are a bit older looking but very spacious and fairly well kept up. The only complaint I had was the place looked like it had not been cleaned in FOREVER when I moved in. The carpet and everything was nice and it wasn't nasty dirt it just looked like either whoever lived there before had never heard of a swiffer duster or something. I SCRUBBEd the crap out of the kitchen cupboards which were kinda dirty and the fixtures were COVERED in dust...but other than that no complaints. Maintenance is good, the office staff is exceptional, and 98% of the neighbors are good. There is one punk kid who lives w/ two crazy ladies across the street from me but other than that all the rest of the neighbors are great. I feel pretty safe here. Also the townhome is very spacious. Only complaint is rent is too much and they don't include utilities (in the townhomes anyhow they might in the apartments.) Pool looks very nice (although I haven't used it but a lot of people do) and the grounds are well-kept. They also just added lights in the parking area which is nice. Getting a parking spot right by your place can occasionally be a pain (especially on weekends) and there's not enough parking but I usually don't have to park too far away, I'm just not right in front of my door like normal. Overall I would recommend this place. They have been extremely helpful, and very fair w/ us so far. Also they seem to respect your privacy (let you know when they need to come in for maintenance ahead of time etc...they don't just randomly barge in and I've never found my stuff moved around or anything like that like I have at other places. Also they allow dogs which is great. Overall I like it. I would give it maybe an 8 out of 10.
