Apartment Review for Hunter Apartments

My fiance and I moved into Hunter because it was a cheap complex and we were desperate. We were LIED to by the management, stuffed illegally into a one bedroom when we were promised a two bedroom, and had to endure disgusting dirty carpets, windows, a broken screen that never got replaced, huge holes under the sink and in the walls, and finally, my worst nightmare, MICE. We kept the apartment SPOTLESS and were so nice and it just didn't matter...we were treated like crap because we are young and it was our first apartment. They let us put a security deposit down saying we could move into a two bedroom and then suddenly didn't have one, so they moved us into a one bedroom until a two bedroom opened up. Great, except the special we signed our lease under magically ended, so we would have had to pay more than they said. They'll let anyone off the street run the place. Awful. I'd rather live on the street than in that dump. Everything in there hasn't been replaced since 1965. There is lead in the pipes, we suspect, because when we moved we got our one and a half year old daughter tested for lead and she had elevated levels in her blood. Don't move there. It was a nightmare for us. We are just glad to be out. We broke our lease because of the lies and the conditions (the two bedroom apartment they finally offered us had mold growth and cockroaches), and are just glad to be out, even though they are trying to sue us for over 4,000 when there was no damage to our apartment whatsoever. I repeat, a freaking NIGHTMARE. We regret every cent we spent there. They are money grubbing slumlords and should be put in jail, in my opinion.
