Apartment Reviews for Kensington Place Townhomes
Horrible place to stay!

Kensington townhomes are the place for you if you are noisy as the tenants here are. The walls are paper thin and the floors are super squeaky. At this point I wish a tv and floors was all I was hearing. The people here are just loud! When you complain to apartment manager, currently Nancy Alex, she does nothing but sit on her behind. I feel sorry for the employees working under her. The maintenance guy, currently Al G., is excellent and does all he can with what he has to work with. He is thorough when it comes to fixing things in your unit however, he keeps having to come back for the same things over and over again because everything in the townhome is of cheap quality. The plumbing in these townhomes are a huge problem! You know its a big problem when Nancy continues to send out memos to all the residents to not use drano or any other unclogging materials in the drains and toilets. Every single drain in this unit was backed up when we moved in. You must plunge everytime you wash dishes, clothes, and your body, and while you use the restroom. It is such a nuisance and Nancy knows its a problem, fix it! Another flaw with this unit is the setup of the Hookup for the units that allow washers and dryers. We hired a guy to come out and tell us what we needed to Hookup up the dryer. The same day, we smelled gas in our unit and called the gas man out here. He found that the smell was coming from the stove (the pilot light went out). He also did a check in the rest of the unit and found there was a cap missing and it had to be replaced by our maintenance guy before he left so he sat and waited on him to come. While the gas man waited the guy we called to hook up the dryer came as well. He went in the basement and later came back upstairs to tell us that we needed a 10 foot dryer line. The gas man over heard him and said that in the city of Roseville that's illegal. The dryer line could not be more than 7ft and that you could get a big ticket for that. We called Nancy and told her what the gas man said and her response was well everyone is doing it and it should be fine. But she also said if we get the ticket, they are not responsible for it. Another idiotic thing this complex does is update small things in the unit for signing another lease before yours expires. The three things they update are block Windows in the basement, a hand rail on the porch (1 at a time), or carpet cleaning. So when you look at the outside, some units have rails, some have 1, or some have none at all which makes the complex look incredibly stupid. Some units have clean Windows and some don't. What kind of incentive is that, cosmetic changes to the unit benefits them, not me (unless you plan on staying forever, you don't own so you don't have to worry about resale value) They show one nice unit in the ads but in person, it looks horrible with all the rubbish and dirty siding on the buildings. I would run, run as far away from this place as possible. If you still come, ask them to show you the apartment they will put you in and go see it at 3am when the people are there loudest!

I concur with this writter as I moved in my unit wouldn't call it a home in 2010. I was disappointed, shortly thereafter as the heat, is forced-air poorly insultated windows, with moist damp mildew rust stains that have been painted over. The townhouse I was able to view that someone else got had ALL new Carpet, I was under the impression that was a given, mine was only the lower (livingroom). THERE are NO UPDATE just venier covered kitchen CABINETS!!! I used 3mm, plastic for 5 out of 7 windows didn't help COLD...large heating bill. YES, very lots of noise, both disrespectful children stand around your unit door/windows using profane language, not to mention visitors/residents with loud music playing in their vehicles, my vehicle was broken into. Snow removal is bad, cut the grass immediately after it rains??? WTH laughing, but true. I just got the same Lease proposal or incentive. I had to laugh...as I hope to move. As soon as you post the truth about this Berger Reality Property, they come back with "management can't help or that management can't stop that". The fact is that they should be held accountable, shamefully raising the rent in times of hardship for everyone. I really believed I was moving somewhere nice, as I was in the City of Roseville NOT!
Truthfully, Nancy doesn't have excellent management skills, I believe she is fearful of residents or wants to keep the percentage of resident in the complex for a raise. Maybe as this ensures her a pay check. Regardless, I wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone who wants a safe, peaceful place to make a home.
