Apartment Review for South Pointe

Brand new complex and things falling apart due to poor contruction, workmanship and cheap materials. Huge heating bills in the winter due to poor construction. You can hear neighbors speaking clearly in their apts, also hear them screaming, having sex, and bathroom noises too. Damage to cars in parking lots, theft of things people leave on their patio, taking peoples newspapers.... leaving nasty notes on the door for all to read. Many people work second and third shifts so they stay up most of the night, and think nothing of playing loud music during the middle of the night. There is no insulation inbetween apartments or floors, and only inch of padding under carpeting... so it sounds like elephants are living above you. Nails are falling out of the floorboards, and squeak and creek very loudly. No phone outlet in the living room, but is on a wall in the kitchen. Kitchen is small. Master bedroom bathroom is so small that you need to stand next to the toilet in order to close the door. Police are called often due to noise complaints. Only one maintenance person, and he isn't enthuaistic about doing work... you have to insist that things be done. One woman in the front office, and she is the 4th since the complex opened (about 2 1/2 years). Owners do not stand by what their employees say, and they will lie to you to get you in. Even when they write things in the leases they don't follow through. <P>
Good things about the apartment include lots of electrical sockets. You can plug things in everywhere. Large sized washer and dryers in all apartments. Large refrigerator and all appliances are new. There is a dog building, and you are allowed up to 2 cats in other buildings. No cat fees. A microwave is included in with the range. <P>
