Review for Harbor Cove Apartments

My girlfriend and I moved into these apartments in December of 2005. The first few weeks were great until the people across from us moved in and immediately our apartment smelled like a dirty ashtray due to the excessive smoking from our neighbors. Soon after, our doorwall began leaking badly everytime it began to rain, which was quite often in the spring and summer. We had to have them out to "repair" the problem 5 times and currently are waiting for their crew to "repair" it for the 6th time. It has been 2 weeks and I have called them 3 times to complain. Our dryer stopped working and again, it took them over 2 weeks get it fixed so we could do our laundry. When you pay to have a washer/dryer in the apartment it should work!!!!

Another person on here complained about the carport situation and she is totally correct. Their carport system is completely messed up and we were stuck parking in a spot that's not even close to our apartment!! Parking in the summertime is a nightmare because everyone has their friends and family over to use the lake and they ALL park in the parking lot.

Don't be fooled by the "private beach" which is nothing more than a 3 foot by 12 foot strip of sand on grass. The only nice aspect is the gazebo which is supposed to be for apartment leasers only. By the 2nd or 3rd day of summer every boat on the lake is docked on the "beach" to use the gazebo and its bathroom facilities!!

Despite being relatively new compared to most, the construction is terrible, like most apartments. The people upstairs sound as though they weigh in around 500 lbs and they're totally the opposite. Again as another review mentioned, it seems like every 6 months the managment changes. We unfortunately resigned our lease after speaking with the new office staff who reassured us things would be MUCH better than before, only to be worse. Their office hours are terrible, they never answer your messages and are no longer open on Saturday's unless by appointment. The only positive thing to these apartments is the price. For the square footage you get it's the cheapest around and a good distance between Brighton and Ann Arbor.
