Apartment Reviews for Deer Creek Manor - Williamston

I live with my boyfriend and our 2 dogs in building 12 on the 3rd floor in one of the luxury 2 bedroom apartments. We pay $850/month -$25 student discount + $25 pet rent. We first came an looked at the apartments and thought they were beautiful. They have awesome brick fireplaces and huge balconies. And with our apt we even have a free extra den, great place to put the dog's kenels. The first thing that went wrong was when I got a "demand for possession of nonpayment of rent" hanging in a plastic bag on my door. I had forgotten about my payment plan for the dog deposit. But no one even called to let me know. So I went down there and paid that thing in full so it wouldn't happen again. Then a couple months later the same thing happened! Although I had started making copies of every check I gave to them, just to be sure. As it turns out the check I had put in the deposit box outside the office had been lost. They tried telling me it was my fault, but I had a copy of the check and told them exactly when I dropped the check off. Finally we convinced them they had lost it and Chen, the owner, paid half of my cancelled check fee. From then on I made sure I got a receipt. The office was closed many times when it was suppose to be open, especially when I was supposed to be receiving a UPS package!! One day I was calling just to make sure I got my 13th month free and they said I didn't b/c one of my payments was late. As it turned out they still counted my lost check as late. Finally someone with half a brain started working at the office and she actually understood the situation and put a note in my file that the lost check was their fault. There is also the issue of dog crap being every where. I have two dogs so I am constantly outside. How hard is it to bring a bag with you. When it's dark out you can't see where your walking and you step in that crap, I've ruined 2 pairs of shoes! They have finally put a sign up! I also referred someone, a new person at work, and a week later went in to ask if I receive some sort of discount, they said yes, but you have to come in before they sign the lease, how was I suppose to know that!!! They had me fax in how I met the person and when I referred them to see if I could get something....still waitiing to hear back. Also, one of my towell bars starting falling off the wall. Maintenance came and we had a few things for them, so we just sat back and didn't want to hover. After they left we went to see what they did and they had fixed our towell bar with duct tape!! I called and complained and the management could not believe such a thing had happened and maint was suppose to come out the next day and fix it, that was 2 weeks ago and still no fix! <P>
Deer Creek also rapes you on having to pay every single utility: separate bills for gas, water, electric, cable-and Millenium Cable is so expensive! You have to unplug the internet modem all the time just to get it working again. <P>
All in all ....make sure you do these things if you live here *get receipts for every payment you make to them *if you refer someone, go in there before they even come look at the apts *hover over everything the maint guys are doing and make sure they fix it right! <P>
Deer Creek has the best apartments, but the worst service. If you can handle it, I would recommend living here (show it off to all of your friends!) <P>

I LIVED HERE FOR 8 MONTHS AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. THE APARTMENTS ARE NOT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS IN THE WORLD FROM THE OUTSIDE, BUT THE INSIDE IS GREAT FOR THE PRICE. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH CRIME OR LOUD NEIGHBORS. THE OWNER WAS ALWAYS MAKING IMPROVEMENTS TO THE APTS CONSISTENTLY. THE TOWN OF WILLIAMSTON IS VERY QUIET AND FRIENDLY. WHEN I LEFT, I RECEIVED MY DEPOSIT WITHIN A WEEK OF TURNING IN MY KEYS. THEY ARE VERY QUICK. I MISS IT VERY MUCH!! <P>
