Looks Are Deceiving And So Are The Staff

Wow. Where to start. This place is a work of art. Like the other reviews said, it looks like a dream when you are there at first. I was super excited to move in because it was clean and had a ton of extras, (pools, bball courts, walking trails, FREE laundry) and paid utilities except electric and cable. The staff was really friendly as well.

That all changes as soon as you move in. When we moved in it reeked like smoke for about a month. Plus, smoke from our upstairs neighbors always creeps through our bathroom vents... you have to keep the bathroom door shut otherwise the entire apartment smells. Then, our refrigerator broke 3 times in less than 2 months. We did get a rent credit for one of the times. The maintenance guy was actually rude to me when I explained the situation on the third time saying I probably caused it by allowing water to leak from the freezer. I told him it was leaking because it was BROKEN! There was a leak in the ice maker in the freezer.

Our dishwasher stopped working and was leaving bits of food in it. I ran it empty a few times to try and clean it out, and removed the drain myself at first to see if I could fix it. I ran it through empty one more time but there was still grit in there. When they came back out to fix it they just told me to run it empty a few more times, when I told him I had already done it 3 times they didn't say anything, but tinkered on it for a few minutes and left. It never worked the entire year we lived there.

Finally, the took away FREE laundry and just gave everyone a rent credit based on what they thought each apartment should use. Ridiculous. Also, the staff, (not all, but a few in particular) are rude anytime you go to the office with any questions or concerns. For example, I went in to ask if we are responsible for getting the carpets cleaned when we leave, or if it is just taken out of our deposit (our deposit was only $99 bucks, which was good but I don't want to get charged for anything) This person actually said to me, "Well just because your deposit was $99 doesn't mean that's all you will lose" actually implying they were going to charge me for that dump. If you hate your job, then quit. Seriously. I actually am going to take video and pictures of the place after we clean it because I have a feeling they are going to be shady and try to charge me just to get more money out of me.

When we first were touring the place we were told it was safe and quiet, in fact, the guide we had said that he hadn't seen the cops there more than once since he lived there. He must have only lived there a week because the cops are there almost every week. Our first few months they were there everyday for about 4 days straight. There are domestic disputes all the time, which you can hear every word of the fight since the walls are so thin. Plus, there are the super bratty kids that run around CONSTANTLY. They swear at you, swear at each other, fight, you name it. No respect for anyone at all. And don't expect to get any time at the bball courts or anything else without being bombarded by kids. We brought our ladder golf set out there for 20 minutes one day and 4 kids came up and TOOK THE GAME right out of my hands! WTF? Watch your kids!!

I could go on and on, but to say the least, we have found a much better apartment for the same amount of money. This place may seem like a diamond in the rough at first but it’s not… it’s a fake. The staff by far made this place even worse. they talk down to you like you are a kid. RUDE!

The only plus side to this place for me was it was close to my work and had lots of parking spaces so I never had to walk far from my car to my apartment. Also, it's really close to Wal-Mart so you can just run over there if you ever need anything. Although, don't go there when it's dark or you might get mugged... It's also really close to the Northtown Mall, Target, Buffalo Wild Wings, Old Chicago and Cub foods. So the convenience of being close to shops was a plus.
