Positive Apartment Reviews and Ratings
Not as bad as people say. ( over a year ago )

I lived at Georgetown for about a year and a half, and i never had any bad experiences, it was my first apartment and to be honest, i was actually sad to leave. everything that was wrong in my apartment got fixed, the office was always nice to me, they have a pool indoor and out a fitness room and yes maybe the hallways are dark and the trashroom is on the first floor, but i lived on the first floor by the trash room , once in awhile it would smell kind of funky, but my apartment never smelled and i saw maybe a total on three centipedes in my apartment, and as far as Harvey Filister goes, yes he may be stern at times BUT, in my own personal experience, i was going through a rough time getting laid off and he worked with me, i got my deposit back. if you treat him decent, he will treat you decent back, but if you go in complaining and yelling and being disrespectful, that is what you are going to get back. you catch a lot more flies with honey than you do vinegar. he must be doing something right if ppl continue to rent from him and he owns multiple properties. and if you ask me, if my job would have been closer i would have stayed. i most definately recommend Georgetown to anyone looking for a nice place to live. trust me i have been looking for a new place and this is a lot better than a lot of stuff i seen for the price.

I have read many negative reviews about Georgetown, but I was resident for nearly 3 years and never had any serious problems. It seems that certain buildings may be better than others. Try to get into one with longer term residents, close to the river. Management was always quick to respond to maintainence requests. It's true, the water was turned off quite frequently, but for me, this was never an inconvenience since I was at work anyway. No bug problem up on third floor-can't speak for the other floors. Laundry is affordable, apartments are larger than most in the price range, close to freeway/buslines, and bike paths galore. I was concerned about getting my security deposit back since I had read horror stories, but I got every cent back I was owed and I am happy to give Georgetown a positive review.

The appearance of the apartments is nice...the parking is fine. what i dont like is the owner...Harvey Filister...he is a heartless ******* and doesnt care about the residents who live here at all. When we moved in we were allowed to have dogs..we got a dog, informed the office and then all of a sudden in March of 2011, no dogs allowed anymore, those here would be "grandfathered" in. Not long after that received a phone call from Harvey Filister saying we had to get rid of our dog because we werent following the rules......which is complete CRAP..since we have never actually met Harvey i asked him what kind of dog we had and he simply flat out refused to answer me....simply because he did not know and is just making crap up to make people get rid of their dogs. We will be moving when our lease is up needless to say so we can get our dog back. Harvey Filister is the ONLY reason i will not live here and will not refer anyone to this place.
