These apartments do not have heat. The landlord/owner John Klinker knows this, but he waits until summer to lease, then you're locked into a contract ! This is an older building with hot water (radiator type) heat, and I suspect that it needs a new boiler. I'm sure this will cost tens of thousands of dollars, so Mr Klinker would rather have people move out after their lease is up, or sue him for a few months rent, rather than spend the big bucks. Sure, you can report him to the city, but he just tells them that he's working on it - so they leave him alone. Also, he pathches the place up pretty well before you move in, but in 6 months the plaster walls start cracking and peeling as a result of the poor insulation. It's a shame because the apts. look nice, they are reasonably priced ($665-1br.) and you're in Linden Hills just west of Lake Harriet. But do not get fooled- slumlords can exist even in great neighborhoods. You've been warned !
